Develop the test and optical concepts for an advanced laser ranging system for autonomous vehicles

Simulation of optical systems for beam shaping, free space optics

Set-up the optical and electrical test infrastructure according to component and system test requirements

Develop and specify the mechanical and optical hardware and software modules necessary for testing and calibration of prototypes

Define and setup of manufacturing equipment for prototype and small serial production

Define and document system set up, manufacturing process and qualification

Set-up of LIDAR sensor system including calibration and testing

Ensure compliance with applicable laser and laboratory safety standards

Select suppliers for test system and tooling development

Your main responsibilities

You should have

Engineering or Physic degree and a broad background in optics, optoelectronics, metrology, electronics and lasers

Experience in simulation of advanced lens and optics

Experience in designing optical systems

Experience in test and calibration of optics, fiber-optic and/or photonic components and systems

Practical experience in test equipment installation and qualification

Basic knowledge in electronics is of advantage

Practical experience in setting up a manufacturing equipment is of advantage

Experience in packaging processes of optical and mechanical components

Test software development skills in MatLab and/or LabView

Awareness of laser and laboratory safety issues
